What to do if your pet is sick...
If you are worried your pet is unwell please call the practice. We will triage your pet and decide if they need to be seen as an emergency or if they can be treated by a telephone or video consultation.
An emergency would be any of the following: open wounds, choking, difficulty breathing, gagging, non-stop cough, bleeding from body (blood in urine, diarrhoea or cough), inability or straining to urinate, injury, painful or closed eyes, poisoning, seizures, staggering, fractures, severe lameness, obvious signs of pain or anxiety, heat stroke, severe vomiting and diarrhoea, refusal to eat and drink for more than 3 days, collapse, weakness, unconsciousness, paralysis, difficulty whelping and severe allergic reactions.
Non-emergency cases would include: ear or skin infection, skin rash, mild cough, hives, mild lameness. These issues can be dealt with by phone or video call and medication posted out.
All repeat prescriptions can be posted out including parasite treatment.
Routine care will not be performed such as boosters, weight checks, routine dentals and neutering.
Our team is severely limited to skeleton staff, they are risking their own safety to look after our pets..
